If you’re in the market for a new two-row crossover, be sure to check out the 2020 Acura RDX. It’s one of the most satisfying models in the luxury segment. Not only does the new RDX provide a great deal of passenger comfort, but it also rewards you with a fun driving experience. Let’s find out how the 2020 Acura RDX compares to the 2020 BMW X3.

Performance

The 2020 Acura RDX packs a lot of performance. Under its hood rests a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It’s rated to crank out an enjoyable 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. By comparison, BMW rates the X3’s standard turbocharged engine to produce 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A more advanced 10-speed automatic transmission further elevates the RDX’s responsiveness. All versions of the X3 use an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also take advantage of the RDX’s available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. Torque vectoring enables this class-exclusive AWD system to make the RDX’s cornering capabilities to the next level.

Features

Very few competitors come close to matching the 2020 Acura RDX’s great value. Several premium features are standard. When the weather starts to get cold, you’ll undoubtedly appreciate the RDX’s heated front sport seats with 12-way power adjustment. Heated seats are an extra cost on the 2020 BMW X3. Another great feature is the RDX’s standard panoramic sunroof. While an 8.8-inch touchscreen is found on the X3, Acura’s new True Touchpad Interface provides a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen. Furthermore, Android Auto smartphone integration isn’t even available for the X3.

Interior Room

When traveling with your family, you need as much space as possible. The 2020 Acura RDX is one of the most accommodating vehicles in the class. While both of these SUVs have a five-passenger seating capacity, families will have more space to spread out in the new RDX. Folks sitting in the RDX’s backseat will have an extra 2.0 inches of legroom. There’s also an additional 1.3 inches of legroom in the front of the RDX.
