Serving Ridgeland, MS

At Acura of Jackson, our friendly sales reps consistently focus on supporting each customer’s individual shopping experience. When many of our customers stop by searching for a luxury crossover SUV, they focus on the differences between the RDX and the MDX. The RDX is a compact luxury model that is priced notably lower than the three-row MDX. After comparing their many other differences, will you choose the MDX or the RDX as your next vehicle?

The 2021 RDX and the 2022 Acura MDX are offered with a single-engine throughout their full trim line. In the 2021 Acura RDX, you will find a 272-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive is included, and all-wheel drive is an option. The 2022 MDX is equipped with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine. This engine is enhanced by throttle control. All-wheel drive is optional for the two lower trim levels and standard at the higher trim levels.

The third generation of the Acura RDX was released in 2019 with a bumper-to-bumper refresh, so the 2021 RDX continues to have a sharp, modern style with an unrelenting appeal. With a prominent hood, well-defined front haunches, and a dramatic curve over the hood, the RDX’s façade has athletic styling. Simultaneously, the chrome-outlined, pentagon-shaped grille, as well as the jewel-like LED headlights to add prestigious charm. In comparison, the 2022 Acura MDX is a next-generation version that reflects sophisticated, contemporary styling. The grille, headlights, and hood designs are relatively comparable to the RDX’s features, but the nose is somewhat flatter. Throughout the sides and over the roof, the MDX has a longer, leaner flow that is distinctly confident.

The primary difference between the 2021 RDX and the 2022 MDX across their interiors is the MDX’s three-row functionality. The MDX also has some updated styling elements. However, the RDX and the MDX both have standard or available features like smart device integration, SiriusXM satellite radio, a premium audio system, speed-sensitive volume control, and others. The MDX also has a wireless charging pad, 3D tech for navigation, AcuraLink, and other premium features.
