2021 Acura TLX vs 2021 Acura TLX Type S

The Acura TLX is the luxury sedan that drivers in Jackson have been drawn to for years. It has sophisticated, sultry looks combined with top features and exciting capabilities. For 2021, the TLX Type S has returned, and many of our customers at Acura of Jackson are curious about the differences between the TLX and the TLX Type S. What do you need to know before you make your next sedan selection?


Both of these sedans have thrilling capabilities on the road. The TLX comes with a 272-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo VTEC engine. The TLX Type S, on the other hand, is the high-performance version of the TLX. Under its hood, you will find a VC-Turbo V6, 3.0-liter engine that produces 355 horsepower. In both versions of this sedan, you will enjoy available super-handling all-wheel drive, a rear multi-link suspension, and a front double-wishbone suspension. If you choose to head home in the TLX Type S, your sedan will also have Brembo brakes, an integrated dynamics system, a high-performance chassis, and adaptive dampers.


Visually, the 2021 Acura TLX and the TLX Type S share many traits, but they are easy to tell apart on the road. Both vehicles come with “jewel-eye” LED headlamps, sculpted surfaces from front to rear, and a pentagon-shaped grille. The TLX Type S stands apart with its black accents for the trim, the grille, and the Y-spoke wheels. It also has summer performance tires and quad exhaust tips.
