The Acura MDX is the three-row crossover that has consistently garnered ample attention from our customers at Acura of Jackson. As you explore the premium possibilities for your next crossover purchase, the MDX has rightfully caught your eye. The 2022 Acura MDX is a next-generation version that has been completely redesigned, and its updates will undoubtedly impress you. How does the 2022 Acura MDX compare to its predecessor? There is no 2021 version of the MDX, so a review of the 2020 Acura MDX to the 2022 MDX is in order.
In 2020, both gas-powered and hybrid powertrains were available. The 3.5-liter, V6 engine that is tied to a nine-speed auto transmission generates 290 horsepower. It is available with your choice of all-wheel or front-wheel drive. The hybrid engine is only offered in combination with all-wheel drive. It pairs a V6 engine with three electric motors and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver 321 combined horsepower. In the 2022 model year, the hybrid engine is no longer offered. It comes with the same base V6 engine, but this engine is now paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Acura MDX is both wider and longer than the 2020 model. This enhances stability on the road and boosts space in the cabin. Both its front and rear ends are slightly rounded, and this combines with a tapered roof and sharp side windows to create a stunning exterior. The 2022 MDX has Chicane LED lights, belt-style molding, and a squared-off yet sculpted hood for added personality.
The 2020 MDX interior is refined and elegant, and the 2022 version’s interior has been dramatically remodeled to show off its high-end athleticism. Notably, improved interior materials and an updated 12.3-inch digital screen for the multimedia system are new in the 2022 MDX. Milano leather and wood complement a touch control pad, a push-button ignition, heated seats, an extra-wide panoramic sunroof, and other equipment.
