Ridgeland Christmas Parade

When: December 3, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Olde Towne Ridgeland

Every year, the Ridgeland Christmas Parade brings people together from Madison to Brandon.The parade route follows Ridgeland Avenue from Holmes Community College, turns onto Maple Street, turn west onto Jackson Street, and finally Sunnybrook Road to end at Holmes. Come to see a celebration of Ridgeland businesses and organizations!

Christmas by Candlelight Tour at Old Capitol Museum

When: December 6, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Old Capital Museum, 100 S State St, Jackson, Mississippi 39201

Enjoy holiday fun and fascinating Mississippi history at the same time with the Old Capital Museum’s Christmas by Candlelight Tour! Seven sites will be open and sporting holiday decorations: the State Capitol, Mississippi Governor’s Mansion, Old Capitol Museum, Manship House Museum, and Eudora Welty House and Garden, and the new Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. Don’t miss the popular small-town exhibit of Possum Ridge and its model trains! For some unique gifts, the Mississippi Museum Store will be open, offering a wide selection of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa items for sale.

Canton Christmas Festival

When: 5:00 to 9:00 p. m. Nov 29 through Dec 1 & Dec 6 through Dec 23

Kick off Christmas season under 200,000 twinkling white lights with the Canton Christmas Festival. The kid-favorite interactive Christmas Village features activities like making reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer to eat on Christmas Eve. You can also sip cider and visit Frosty’s igloo, where he’ll be handing out marshmallows to roast by his fire! Be sure to snag a pair of magical gasses from one of Santa’s Elves to see the Christmas lights in Canton spring to life in special shapes.

Ridgeland Christmas Tree Lighting

Where: Jackson Street Railroad Plaza, W Jackson St, Ridgeland, MS 39157

When: Nov 29, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

You won’t want to miss the traditional charm of an annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Olde Towne Ridgeland. Spectators will gather at Jackson Street Plaza to watch the tree lighting and enjoy events including kids’ crafts, live music from Jackson-area choirs and bagpipe groups, food truck snacks, hot cocoa — and snow!
